Troubleshooting with old version + multiUpdated 7 days ago

This is the pre-July 2023 model.

The program does not start as soon as there are shoes on the holders

The Shoefresh uses infrared sensors to detect if there are shoes on it. Some shoes let a lot of light through, so the Shoefresh does not start automatically. You can start the program manually by pressing the + and - buttons simultaneously for a few seconds. Also, open shoes and shin guards are often not detected by the sensors.


The program starts without shoes on the holders

Your Shoefresh is probably not working properly because the shoe holders are improperly installed. If the holders are too loose, the Shoefresh does not know when you are or are not putting shoes on them.  


Don't worry; this is easily remedied through the following steps.

➡️Stap 1. Unplug and remove both shoe holders. 

➡️Stap 2. Plug the plug back in; after this, the program will start running. 

➡️Stap 3. Install the shoe holders and push them firmly onto the unit until you see two dashes on the display. 

✅The holders are now properly installed. 

The program then stops running after 10 seconds. If you now put your shoes on the holders, the Shoefresh will automatically start refreshing and drying your footwear. 


The fan does not work / gives a ticking sound

Probably the fan is not working properly or is blocked by something. This can occur because shoes are still full of sand and mud on the Shoefresh. 

We therefore advise to always knock out shoes before putting them on the device. Nevertheless, it can happen that over time sand and dust end up in the Shoefresh. 

We suspect that this has caused the fan of your Shoefresh to jam. 

The solution  

- Place a vacuum cleaner against the grate on the back of the Shoefresh. 

- Hold the Shoefresh at an angle, shake it gently and tap hard on the bottom of the fan; repeat three times.  


Then, is your Shoefresh still not working? If so, please let us know.


The screen shows the code E1

The temperature sensor is broken... Sorry for this!

My shoes keep smelling

By cleaning and drying your shoes regularly the smell will gradually decrease. This is true for all types of shoes. Also with old shoes. However, this takes some time. The smell won't be out in a few tries. Put your shoes on the Shoefresh every time after you wear them. And give it at least a month. 🕗


There may be several reasons why it takes longer to get the smell out of the shoes.

🌧 Other environmental factors.


My shoes stay wet

How quickly shoes dry depends on the material of the shoes and how wet they are. If your shoes are extremely wet zijn☔️, repeat the program. Your shoes should be dry after up to 2 60-minute programs 🔥.

If not? Then contact our customer service department.


The Shoefresh is no longer responding at all

Follow the steps below if your Shoefresh is not responding at all (screen stays black and device does not start).

  • Is the plug properly plugged in?
  • If there is a switch: is the socket on?
  • Does the Shoefresh work in another outlet?

Does none of this work? Then your Shoefresh is probably defective.
