Difference between the Opod and the Opod Detect?Updated 11 days ago
Although both appliances use three programmes and add active oxygen throughout the entire cycle to kill bacteria and odours, there are significant differences in technology and efficiency.
Shoefresh Opod (standard model)
The Shoefresh Opod is our best-selling model in Europe and provides a reliable basis for everyday use.
- How it works: Operates on a fixed timer setting. The programme stops automatically once the set time (typically 1 to 1.5 hours) has elapsed.
- Technology: Dries using warm air and ventilation via a single central heating element.
- Who is it for: Ideal for anyone looking for a reliable, no-nonsense shoe freshener that delivers the same results every day.
Shoefresh Opod Detect (smart & energy-efficient upgrade)
The most advanced and energy-efficient option.
- Identification: Can be identified by product code SF-OPOD-DTCT-BLACK (on the bottom of the device and on the box).
- Smart Moisture Sensors: The Detect continuously measures how damp your shoes are. If they are not dry after the programme, it automatically starts an extra cycle until they are 100% dry.
- Dual Heating: Features two heating elements. This heats the air more efficiently and dries your shoes faster.
- Energy-efficient: As the appliance stops as soon as the shoes are dry (and does not continue to run unnecessarily), it uses less electricity.
- Who is it for: For the discerning user who values convenience, a guaranteed dry result and lower energy bills.
